Every October, the Townsville Sprint Regatta invites sailors, friends, and families to enjoy a vibrant long weekend of high-energy sailing, relaxed socialising, and waterfront fun. This popular Off The Beach (OTB) regatta runs from 4-6 October, offering something for all skill levels and ages.
The 2024 weekend kicked off with late registration and briefing on Saturday, followed by the Sprint Regatta’s first session held in scenic Cleveland Bay. A highlight of the regatta is the Sealink Around Magnetic Island Race for boats with AS Yardstick ratings of 89 or under—a thrilling event that challenges competitors in open waters.
In 2024, Sunday featured additional sprint sessions and the Magnetic Island Race, with Monday bringing the final sprint and the eagerly anticipated presentation ceremony back at the club lawn.
