Whitsunday Sailing Club (WSC) has been working hard to provide a memorable experience for all at its 37th edition of Airlie Beach Race Week (ABRW), this year sponsored by 74 Islands Distillery and to be held from 7-14 August, when over 130 boats of all types and sizes will take to the pristine waters of the tropical Whitsunday islands.
Regatta Director, Jenni Birdsall, has worked hard to ensure all competitors enjoy a great racing program, while Event Chairman and WSC President, Terry Archer, promises a lot of attention has gone into creating an inviting social program.
"The Club has worked hard to deliver unforgettable sailing and social experiences at Airlie Beach Race Week. When putting the social program together, we have kept not just competitors, but their family and friends in mind. There are some new additions which we hope keeps everyone happy."
For those not racing, don't miss the VIP spectator boat. Watch all the action unfold from the stunning 100-foot mega yacht, SV Summer Jo, with its comfortable indoor and outdoor viewing decks. Starts with a welcome drink on arrival, pick your posse – sit out the sun - or head to one of the air-conditioned lounges. A professional crew and commentary will keep you close to the action.

Onshore, it all starts with the Welcome at WSC on Thursday 7 August, following registration and includes live entertainment with a great chance to catch up with old mates and make new friends.
From 7-10 August, try the Ronstan Coffee Cart (enjoy a free coffee and a chance to try an Orbit winch) – opening hours are in the official competitor handbook.
On Friday 8 August, it's Friday Night Movies in the Park, just outside the Club's main entrance and sure to be a winner with the kids.
On the final night, 14 August, the official prize giving includes the raffle prize announcement, followed by fireworks and live music.
In between, there is live entertainment every night after racing at the Club, kicking off with Chris Booroff at the Welcome function on 7 August. Other musicians include: The Fox, Mason Rack, Matty Rogers, Sam McCann, Mick Woodbridge, Bear Brewer and Viva Band, so come and dance the night away.
Lay day sits in the middle of the event and has lots to keep everyone occupied, starting with the Cleanup Cruise with Ocean Crusaders - by booking only. Departs from WSC pontoon, so come along and help keep our racing waters pristine while exploring the northern islands.
Also on the day is the Selden' Making Sailing Easy' - free coffee and talk at WSC and the 74 Islands Distillery Long Lunch at Elementa – by booking only. The Battle of the Sailors rounds the day out. Teams will compete for fabulous prizes, including VIP entry to ABRW 2026 – and please, wear your best party shirt.
Lay day is also a popular one for property viewing, as many competitors love the region so much, they have bought into the region. One special place is Airlie Summit, Alder's $60 million master planned community, perched 200 metres above sea level with panoramic Coral Sea views and unrivalled access to the Whitsundays' world-class marinas and boating.

The Club's restaurant and bar are open every day and evening, but the restaurant is so popular, bookings must be made for dinner, while lunch on the verandah is the perfect way to view racing in a relaxed setting.
Entertainment and food stalls on the lawn in front of the Club are also on every afternoon following racing, where the daily presentation is held.
Quality Marine Clothing return as the official event merchandise supplier. Duncan Curnow and his team will be onsite at WSC after racing each day, so come along and buy before stock runs out.
