Learn to Sail programs for Juniors

Whether you're a complete beginner, looking to return to the sport, or keen to get your kids involved, we offer a range of programs for all ages and skill levels. Every session is designed to be engaging and exciting, sparking a lifelong love for sailing.

Our junior sailing programs are the perfect way for kids to learn the basics of small boat sailing in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment. Guided by experienced instructors, juniors will build confidence on the water, develop essential sailing skills, and make new friends along the way..

Junior sailing programs include:

Tackers 1 – Having Fun

Learn the basics of sailing, for 7-12 year-olds. Kids sail in pairs in small boats. It’s a great way to meet new friends and kids have the chance to sail with others in their group.

Tackers 2 – Tips and Techniques

Learn tricks and techniques of sailing, for 7-12 year-olds. If kids are confident, they can sail a boat on their own with lots of support, supervision and encouragement from the Instructor and Assistant Instructors.

Tackers 3 – Sailing Fast

Learn more advanced sailing skills, for 7–12 year-olds. This is a chance for the kids to sail boats on their own, learning how to make the boat go faster and playing more games, all whilst still under the guidance and supervision of the Instructor and Assistant Instructors.

Green Fleet

This is an entry-level racing fleet designed for sailors who have completed basic learn-to-sail programs and are new to racing. It focuses on building confidence, developing fundamental racing skills, and fostering a fun and supportive environment. Green Fleet sailors typically race on simple courses with coaching support on the water.

Intermediate Fleet

This fleet is for sailors who have progressed beyond Green Fleet and are ready for more structured racing. It introduces more advanced race strategies, boat handling techniques, and rule knowledge while maintaining a learning-focused environment. Intermediate Fleet sailors compete in longer races and begin refining their tactical skills.
