employment on commercial sailing vessels.

We are able to interlink commercial deck certificate qualifications with Yachting Australia qualifications

Our sailing courses are fully dedicated to sailing tuition (maximum 5 students) and do not include cruises, snorkelling and diving with other paying passengers.

All courses scheduled by arrangement - we can make course arrangements for groups of 5 students

Small Craft Safety (Theory)
\ approx. 20 hours or self paced learning and recognition of prior learning learn boating knowledge with safety.
Basic safety rules, the craft, rules and regulations, safety gear, radio, avoiding collisions, navigation, weather, auxiliary engines boat handling, emergencies, rope work and coastal waters.

Competent Crew (Practical) 3 days
- Learn about basic sea terms and parts of a boat, her rigging and sails, sail handling, rope work, fire precautions and fighting, personal safety equipment, man overboard, distress signals, manners and customs, rules of the road, dinghies, meteorology, helmsmanship, sailing and engines

Inshore Skipper (prerequisites - Competent Crew or 25 days on board a sailing vessel in commission, including 500 miles on tidal/estuary waters and 12 hours night-watch keeping). This course provides the knowledge to skipper a yacht in inshore waters. It further covers in depth navigation stability, preparation and organisation for sea, maintenance and repair, passage planning, emergencies and night work.

Yachtmaster Offshore - shore based course

50 days living aboard a power yacht in commission and 1500 nautical miles logged offshore).

Get into Small Boat Sailing for Juniors and adults - Basic Skills 1 & 2

Basic Skills 1
- Provides a safe and enjoyable introduction to small boat sailing for novices. The course includes an introduction too fundamental boat handling skills and essential safety knowledge that will allow participants the freedom of sailing small boats with guidance from the instructor or coach.

Basic Skills 2
- Is designed to consolidate the experiences and knowledge gained in the Basic Skills 1 course and to introduce skills and knowledge that will enable the successful participant to safely and competently sail a small boat in controlled conditions (light winds, enclosed waters) without guidance.

Adult Basic Skills Certificate - 1-day introduction to sailing aboard a sailing dinghy or catamaran. Learn to competently handle a small sailing boat.

TL3 Club Rescue Boat Endorsement (for club members)
