COMMERCIAL QUALIFICATIONS CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Certificate II – Coxswain
Deckhand or master of commercial or fishing ships less than 12 metres in length within 15 nautical miles from the coast. It is a dual Certificate deck and engineering

Certificate II – Coxswain (Restricted)
Deckhand or master of a commercial and fishing ships, less than 12 metres in length within a specified area of smooth and partially smooth waters. It is a dual certificate, deck and engineering

Certificate II in Transport & Distribution (Marine Engine Driving 3) MED 3
Chief Engineer of:
Commercial Ships
Operating propulsion machinery of less than 250kw on ships operating within 100 nautical miles from the coast
Operating propulsion machinery of less than 500kw on ships operating within 15 nautical miles from the coast
Fishing Ships
Operating propulsion machinery of less than 300kw within the Fishing Ship Operating Area or within 200 nautical miles from the coast, whichever is the greater
Operating propulsion machinery of less than 500kw on ships operating within 15 nautical miles from the coast.
