STCW-95 Crew Safety Course
Gain an industry-recognised qualification that will allow you to work on large merchant ships and super-yachts around the world.
Our STCW-95 Certificate, issued by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), is an essential pre-requisite for everyone seeking work in the offshore oil and gas industry or on an Australian registered vessel. The STCW-95 is also a recognised international certificate for obtaining work as a crew member on most of the world’s superyachts.
Certificate of Safety Training (STCW 95) Details
The 3 short courses offered are:
- PSSR - Personal Safety & Social responsibilities
- FPFF- Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (Basic)
- PST- Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques
The 4th short course is Elementary First Aid and candidates holding a current, recognised First Aid qualification can apply for record of prior learning.
With each course, we hold a careers information night on the Thursday night at 7pm. Students and their friends are welcome to attend and learn about working in the commercial shipping industry around the world.
Qualifications You Will Earn
Upon successful completion candidates will be issued with an AMSA approved course completion certificate and be eligible to apply for an AMSA Certificate of Safety Training (www.amsa.gov.au)
The Certificate qualifies the holder to work on vessels in Australian and International Waters, and will enhance their employment opportunities on commercial vessels and superyachts
