2010 Spring Regatta + Training Weekend
This September, in 2010, Whitsunday Sailing Club will be hosting the third annual Spring Regatta. With an emphasis on fun and cooperation out on the water it's sure to be a cracking weekend.
This year we're setting time aside on the first day of the regatta for newer sailors to get rigging and tuning advice from the fleet leaders. A number of top sailors in Catamaran, senior monohulls and junior classes will be on hand with valuable knowledge.
In addition we'll be holding a free-for-all sailing session on saturday morning before the first set of sprint races. This will give sailors the chance to try settings out on the water.
The Grand Plan
Our aims for the weekend (other than to have a great time sailing and meeting new people) are to:
- Help anyone that would like assistance to set their boats up (with information from other competitors) and try new settings on the water that would normally not be possible in a race format.
- Encourage crews/Skippers to swap boats
- Help all sailors improve.
- Focus on starting to help people going to regattas this Christmas.
- Stay out of the protest room and enjoy a relaxed weekend of sailing!
