Please note the following changes to Sailing Instructions, effective immediately: -

  1. Sailing Instruction Clause 2 – Category of Events

Add new subclause 2.3:  For twilight races, boats not complying with Category 5 may, at the discretion of the Race Committee, participate subject to the following requirements:

  • Compliance with Category 5 equipment as far as practicable:
  • Flares
  • Signalling Mirror
  • V Sheet
  • Waterproof VHF Radio
  • Suitable toolkit
  • Paddle or suitable means of propulsion
  • Ability to right upturned boat
  • Approved life jackets / PFD’s
  • Demonstrable experience in Off the Beach dinghy sailing
  • Signed entry form and indemnity statement


  1. Sailing Instruction Clause 7 – Entries

Add new subclause 7.7 – Entries

In addition, each boat shall sign on by radio (VHF Channel 73) to the race committee, no later than the first warning signal, providing the boat name and number of Persons on Board (POB). 


  1. Sailing Instruction Clause 15 – Presentation

Add the following: 

For each division, where less than 3 boats complete a race, only first place will be awarded.  Where 4 or 5 boats complete a race, first and second places will be awarded.  Where 6 or more boats complete a race, first, second and third places will be awarded.  Boats not present at the presentation will forfeit their first, second or third prize.
