The Whitsunday Sailing Club’s Cruising Division had a wonderful finish to the year with the Christmas Cruise to Macona Inlet on Hook Island over the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon 10 yachts put their anchors down, went ashore to enjoy a feast that Kev “Santa” Fogarty with helper Linda Howells could only provide.

The late party had no problems with the Spring tide allowing safe passage over the fringing reef until the wee hours.

Next morning was Santa’s “recovery” breakfast and all left by noon before the rain and strong winds began.
