We're on a mission!
The mission is to help send two of our local boys - Paul and Dale Mitchell - off to the 505 World Championships in San Francisco, and to have a bunch of fun in the process.
The Sailing Expo and Fun Regatta
Held over two days - Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th of July - we'll be hosting a range of events, including:
- A sailing weekend for all the family with free camping!
- An off-shore vs off-beach "Fundrace", with the opportunity for novices to get a ride aboard a yacht
- Saturday evening dinner, with live entertainment, big screen movie and auction night
- Barbeque food and drinks all weekend served by the off beach food bar
- Coaching clinics for junior sailors, given by local guns Paul and Dale Mitchell
Not a sailor (yet)? Come and join us!
Ever thought you might like to learn to sail? Come and see a display of our off beach dinghies rigged up with instructors on-hand to give information on the courses offered by the club. Our courses are open to anyone who wants to learn to sail.
Then, on Saturday afternoon, jump aboard an off-shore yacht and be a part of the great "Fundrace". Even if you've never sailed before, we'd love to take you out on the water*
* Note that there may be limited positions available - subject to space on yachts in the fleet.
Coming from out of town? Camp for FREE
Regatta entrants and their families are welcome to camp on the Whitsunday Sailing Club grounds for the duration of the weekend. It's an ideal location, well served by the club's facilities and only two minutes' walk from the bars and restaurants of Airlie Beach.
If you're planning on attending, please contact us to reserve your camp site. (See the bottom of this page for contact details)
