Great Barrier Reef Boat Sales Challengers' Cup

The Great Barrier Reef Boat Sales Challengers’ Cup saw thirteen vessels take to the bay on Sunday for the 4th race of the series.

Conditions were perfect for the course of four windward leewards, allowing boats that have them to hoist their masthead kites for a great spectacle on the water.

Tactics proved invaluable during the race, with varying gusts and wind shifts, which saw the lead change constantly as racers fought to find the best position on the course and to hoist and gybe kites without problems.

The off-beach boys and girls were out in force and enjoyed really close racing, in a warm up to the Easter Regatta next weekend.

Presentations were held at the Whitsunday Sailing Club, where Great Barrier Reef Boat Sales generously awarded cash prizes to the place getters. These guys are a fantastic sponsor and the racers and club thank them for coming on board.
